Dispur, May 12: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal interacted with the editors of the print and electronic media on the prevailing situation of the state at Brahmaputra State Guest House here today. During interaction, the Chief Minister sought suggestions from the editors regarding the prevailing situation in view of the proposed Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 and Joint Parliamentary Committee's recent visit to the state and requested them to extend cooperation in State government's bid to strengthen the age old harmony in the state.

The editors, while taking part in the interaction, offered several important suggestions to the Chief Minister, which should be taken up to safeguard the interests of the people of the state.

Chief Minister Sonowal paying cognizance to the suggestions of the editors said that the Government of Assam would not resort to any activity which goes against the interests of the people of the state. Chief Minister Sonowal said the state government is committed to the cause of the people and would always continue working in the greater interests of the state.

The editors also appreciated the Chief Minister for inviting them to discuss on the prevailing situation and assured him to extend all support to safeguard the interest of the people of the state.
